Awards Season

Thanks for all your patience while I try to put a difficult year behind me (for those unaware, we lost my father in September after a lengthy illness). Despite all of that, I did manage to put out two new columns in 2023, so if you’re nominating in any of this season’s awards, please consider them for the following categories:

Non-Fiction (Long Form)
Noise & Sparks column (Shoreline of Infinity)

Non-Fiction (Short Form)
Four Queens and a Stone on a Hill (Shoreline of Infinity #34)
Letter to a Future Architect (Shoreline of Infinity #36)

You can pick up both issues now from the Shoreline of Infinity shop at the link below. Thank you!

Update: Fantasycon 2023

Update: Due to a family bereavement, I’m sorry to announce that I will no longer be attending Fantasycon 2023. However, the details in this blog on the Shoreline of Infinity pre-orders and the BFS Journal special issue still stand. Neil Williamson has agreed to take my reading slot on Saturday at 5pm, which’ll be well worth attending instead.

Join me at Fantasycon 2023 for some brand new fiction and hopefully more! For schedule details for Fantasycon, as well as updates on Shoreline of Infinity and the British Fantasy Society Journal special issue on Fantasy & Gaming, read on.

*Updated* Letter To A Future Architect

I wasn’t intending to post about this quite so soon, but the table of contents for Shoreline of Infinity‘s Climate Change issue just came out, and… Holy shit! Is that my name next to Kim Stanley Robinson‘s?

Let’s back up a bit.

Call Extended: Fantasy and Gaming

As you may know, Charly Harbord and I are currently co-editing a special issue of the British Fantasy Society’s BFS Journal. We have decided to extend the deadline for submissions to 29th October for writers from the following: POC, LGBTQIA+- communities, disabled and chronic illness communities, neurodiverse writers, writers with specific learning difficulties, displaced people and those from non-anglophone countries (please note submissions must be in English), and otherwise disadvantaged writers. For more details, read on…
