Incoming: In the Digital Dreams of NewCon Press…

More on 2016 releases from me – and this time, I’ve got some fiction news for you.

Digital Dreams - a NewCon Press Anthology

As part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, NewCon Press are releasing Digital Dreams – an eBook only retrospective celebrating the imprint’s history of publishing great women authors. Ian Whates has a wonderful selection to choose from, so it’s no surprise to find such luminaries as Lauren Beukes, Kim Lakin-Smith, Pat Cadigan, Justina Robson, Tricia Sullivan, Jaine Fenn, and Nina Allen all contributing tales. It’ll be well worth picking up.

I’m proud to say that my story ‘The Honey Trap’ will also be appearing alongside them. This tale first appeared in the NewCon anthology Noir, and won the Best Short Fiction prize at the BSFA awards earlier this year.

For more information, the full Table of Contents – and pre-order link – are both online now.

Bits and Bobs: EMF Half Marathon, ASFAR, Matt Pryor, Allison Weiss, Dogs playing Cards and more

Hi everyone! Here are a few odds and sods that have been gathering over the last couple of weeks…

  • It’s just under a week now to the Edinburgh Half Marathon, which you all know I’m running for the mental health charity Mind, right? I’m currently going through all your song suggestions for my Half Marathon playlist – there’s more than 70 RUDDY SONGS here – aren’t you lot splendid? I should be posting about the final shortlist in the next couple of days.

  • Meanwhile, there’s still time to donate to the main fundraising over on my Just Giving page. After Mental Health Awareness Week last week, the target is so close! If you can spare a donation, please head to http://www.justgiving.com/ruthruns-edinburgh/

Eastercon: Satellite 4 – Scheduled Orbit

It’s almost Easter, so it’s almost Eastercon! The BSFA’s annual convention has moved to Glasgow, and I’ll be making my programme debut this year. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m doing my first ever book signing, when La Femme launches at the Newcon Press / PS Publishing party on the Friday.

That’s not all. I’ll be crossing another first off my list this year, when I appear on two of Eastercon’s convention panels. One of these is right before the signing on the Friday evening. So, if you fancy two hours of back-to-back Booth – and an encore on Sunday – come along, hear me waffle, and I’ll scribble all over your books. Any books, really. Magazines too. Notebooks. Toaster Ovens. Small potted palms. Treasure Maps to hoards of Mexican gold…

Here’s what I’ll be up to:
