Shoreline of Infinity #39, the Summer 2025 edition of Scotland’s only SF Journal, hit the shops at the weekend and is now available online. Pick it up for my latest column about why your favourite SF authors are so against the use of (what’s referred to as) “AI”. It’s a wild one, featuring theft, planetary destruction – and, of course, really bad chicken.
Elsewhere in the issue, you’ll find Pippa Goldschmidt in conversation with Eugen Bacon, who recently picked up the Kate Wilhelm Solstice Award for contributions to genre. Eugen also contributes an insightful piece on writing to commission that’s well worth your time. Plus, there’s poetry from Rachel Plummer and the Cymera Short Story prize winner ‘Dark Matter’ by Caitriana NicNeacail, a wonderfully executed tale. Shoreline celebrated its tenth anniversary at the weekend, and it’s grand to be part of this testament to the glorious cornucopia of SF here in Scotland.
